NU, FEU draw first blood in the UAAP Season 75 opener

UAAP Season 75's team is UNBREAKABLE.

The National University Bulldogs put up a clinic against the rebuilding University of the East Red Warriors with a blowout 90-55 score. Forward Jeoffrey Javillonar and one-time mvp Ray Parks spearheaded the Bulldogs by scoring 19 and 16 points respectively.

There was even an issue before the game started as Emmanuel Mbe was not able to play the first half as his jersey does not have a number in front. In line with this, UE filed a protest against NU players that did not have complete sponsor logos in their shorts. However, according to ABS-CBN Sports commentator TJ Manotoc, it won't go far since missing logos are not as important as missing jersey numbers, which happened to San Beda's Sam Ekwe in the NCAA.

In the second game, 17,761 fans were treated to a cardiac match up between the FEU Tamaraws and UST Growling Tigers. The Tamaraws prevailed against the Tigers 73-72. UST controlled most part of the game and even led double digits coming into the 4th quarter thanks to the monster 24 points, 16 rebounds production of UST center Karim Abdul.

But the first runner up in last year's tournament didn't stop from making plays led by sophomore guard Terrence Romeo and main man RR Garcia. FEU made a 19-9 run but UST kept their poise with the help of shooter Jeric Teng except in the last play where Jeric Fortuna turned the ball over which eventually led to a game-winning Garcia layup.
